Many of us are feeling burnt out in different ways, and have been eagerly waiting for the month of Ramadan to rejuvenate our spirits. Our objective is to bring the community together and help foster an impactful Ramadan that can create a positive trajectory for the rest of the year. The lineup of speakers includes some of the best local speakers Dallas has to offer to make it easy for the thousands of Muslims that come to Dallas during Ramadan to benefit from the phenomenal Muslim community, while also bringing speakers from around the globe to bring new perspectives to our local residents. We also will be hosting a variety of vendors at our Bazar to boost Muslim small businesses and have a wide assortment of options for Halal food come iftar time.
The theme this year is (dis)connected, a play on words touching on the disconnected feeling many of us are feeling in our hearts while also touching on our objective - to reconnect. The idea for this conference stemmed from a discussion over a year prior about just how much Ramadan has impacted our lives, bringing us closer to Allah, and how we wanted to share that blessing with others. It's not easy to reconnect with our religion when we have so many distractions in our day to day lives. Disconnecting empties our hearts of the empty affairs of the dunya and reconnect with things that are more beneficial to us in this life and the next
The program is broken down into three parts. The first one begins Saturday afternoon with our speaker lineup lasting up to Maghreb. At Maghrib time the first official conference day will end and the Ramadan nights program begins. Ramadan nights - or Layal Ramadan- is a night program that features Isha prayer and Taraweeh with a guest reciter, as well as a Ramadan Special standup comedy show for some comedic relief before having a late night khatira and Qiyam Al Layl. There will be our standard vendors as well as food vendors throughout the night as well.
Tickets include admission into the lectures, access to the bazaar, and priority access to the Ramadan Nights program.
Yes, we will have standard disability access. If extra accommodations are needed please email [email protected] and we will work to make the necessary adjustments.
Our program is focused during the day as we wish to leave as much of the night to prayer and worship. We limited each day to five sessions with no break out rooms to avoid tiring our honored attendees. RamadanCon is geared towards those who truly wish to benefit during Ramadan, and our hope is to take advantage of the added reward of doing things for the sake of Allah while fasting.
